I hope they read this post and consider it. I think that a BIOS update with the ability to turn off hyperthreading should be put forth from HP. Now I know we are not overclocking, that's not the issue, however being able to turn off hyperthreading in the BIOS is. See, any overclocker will tell you that to get higher overclocks with less heat generation you should turn off hyperthreading. The more reading I do on this issue, from the HP message boards to reddit, and various reviews on YouTube' I think the problem is not a voltage issue but a hyperthreading issue. I have the latest BIOS F.12, and everything is updated as far as I know. Even went digging around in the BIOS to find the cpu wattage setting, which I could not find. Changing the max power in power setting from 100 deg C to 99.
Even the Omen Command center shows 97 degrees C under 100% load. When benchmarking the processor with Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool, Core Temp reports several cores hitting 100 degrees C. However the high cpu temps just aren't acceptable. I am very pleased with this laptop, and I don't want to take it back. I purchased the HP OMEN 15-dc1052nr at my local Micro Center, Sunday 12/15/19.
